WWW Wednesday is a meme currently hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. It’s very simple – answer the three questions and leave a link in Sam’s post.
The Three Ws are:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What am I Currently Reading?
This book has been on the Top of my TBR list since I bought it last summer, but other books have been piled on top over and over again. I am glad that I waited until I had a blog before reading it because I can’t wait to talk about it. This book is pretty great. I haven’t seen much about it, but it is a little over 2 years old. This is a book I think deserves to be picked up if you haven’t yet. There will be a review coming up next month some time.
I am almost finished with the Sherlock Holmes Audiobook. There will still be one set of Holmes stories to read, which I might physically read as I do own a nice copy of the entire collection. It’s one of those leather bound looking collections from Barnes and Nobel. I’m kinda sad that I’m reaching the end of this. I will be putting up a post about the stories tomorrow– I believe.
I haven’t actually started this one because I got pretty wrapped up in Suicide Notes. But I should be starting this tonight. I received it as an ARC from Net Gallery. It has some pretty good reviews on Goodreads, so I pretty excited about getting into it.
What have I recently Finished?
The Calendar Girls read-a-long book this month is My Lady Jane. My review will be out next week I think I have it queued for– maybe the week after I don’t remember, but soon. I have feelings about this book, but I understand why it was one of the most popular books of 2016.
I finished listening to two Sherlock Holmes stories: The Return of Sherlock Holmes and the Valley of Fear. Post about the whole collection coming soon. (It feels silly to write an actual review of a book that’s over 100 years old.
This was another ARC I got from Net Gallery. When I read the blurb on NG, I was drawn in, the reviews on Goodreads worried me, but I think this book is one of those love it or hate it books. I loved it. There is a full review coming soon. I queued the review for this and My Lady Jane the same day, and I don’t remember which one is coming first, but it’s coming. I think this is worth a read. I loved how it deals with loss, and the unknown, and institutional racism.
What do I plan to read next
This was the Uppercase book from April (I think) I was doing really well at reading my Uppercase books within a month, but I am so far behind. This looks really cute and fun. And as you can see, I’ve been reading a lot of dark stuff recently, so this will be a fun change of pace.
The next audio book I plan to listen to is Lost Boy by Christina Henry.
This book was recommended during the Calendar Girls twitter chat about retellings. This looks really interesting, I hate Peter Pan– which I will get into when I review this– so I’m interested in hearing the story of Captian Hook.
This will be my next ARC that I’m diving into. There is something that drives me toward books that seem to have dark undertones. This book looks like it will have the dark elements I like, dealing with grief and music. I’m excited to dig in.
And that’s my reading plans, what are yours?
Until next time Internet,
